Copyedit
I look through your manuscript for grammatical issues and typos, as well as continuity and language or mechanics errors. At this point your story elements should be nailed down, so I’ll be finding the smaller errors (that make a big impact!).
This service is right for authors who have self-edited, had other readers or editors, and need their stories polished and examined with fresh eyes.
Investment: $0.012 USD per word
Proofread
This is the last check before your book is published. I’m looking over your story for any errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, formatting, and consistency.
This service is right for authors who have been through other stages of editing and need a final check before publication.
Investment: $0.007 USD per word
Copyedit/ Proofread Bundle
I perform a full copyedit, send everything back to you, and then (once you have handled all of your revisions) I perform a full proofread.
This service is right for authors who would like to utilize the same editor for both editing services.
Investment: $0.017 USD per word

During a free Zoom call we will go over the basics of your story, what your goals are for this project (and beyond!), and learn a little bit about each other. I’m happy to answer any questions you have.
If you’re interested in seeing my editing style, I offer free 1,000-word sample edits. Editing is a partnership, and I want us both to be sure that we will work well together.
I recommend not sending the first 1,000 words of your manuscript. Why? Well, you’ve probably read over them a million times and that means they’re likely to be the most heavily edited section of your story. Seeing a more unedited excerpt gives me a clearer idea of what type of service you may need.
Then, if we’re moving forward, I’ll create a custom proposal, contract, and invoice for you to review.
Once everything is signed, I’ll collect a 20% booking deposit.
I will invoice for 40% of the total fee upon delivery of the manuscript, and the remaining 40% will be due when I return your edited manuscript to you.
