The written word has always been one of my passions.

When I was a kid I remember spending all my time creating stories and characters. That same passion for storytelling and the craft of writing has followed me my entire life. As an experienced copywriter, I have spent a lot of time writing blog posts, editing manuscripts, composing email newsletters, and creating social media captions. All of it is fun for me—and a great way to let my brain think creatively (an outlet I need after wrangling my four kids)!

In addition to all the writing and editing I do for clients, my main hobby is (of course) reading. Romance and fantasy are my preferred genres. Give me a book with a map inside and the promise of an epic quest (with maybe a little forced proximity thrown in) and I get positively giddy.

Hey, I'm Kaitlin!

In addition to all the courses I have taken through the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), I also have a bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. My six years in the classroom taught me a lot, but my biggest takeaway was how to coach writers and help them become strong, confident authors.

I learned how to apply kindness while taking writers through the editing process, and the importance of valuing everyone’s voice. I am always desperate to know the thought process behind someone’s writing and how I can help them dig deep into that and discover a more honest story. There’s beauty in the work and there’s magic in a strong partnership.

I’m a to-do list enthusiast. Nothing makes me happier than a list full of things that need to get done (well, except for crossing items off said list!). I thrive on efficiency and purpose.

When your manuscript hits my inbox? You better believe I’m creating a custom list just for your project!

My personality craves both wild creativity and solid organization. Logistics and lists give my brain permission to dive into the creative process. The balance between the two sums up how I move through the world as a human, as a mom, and as an editor.

I believe in second chances, am devoted to The Fast and the Furious franchise, and think cake is the perfect breakfast food.

When I’m not editing you can find me returning books to the library, hiking with my family, or baking in the kitchen.
